Maharashtra politics witnessed an interesting turn on Thursday when BJP leader Krishna Hegde and MNS leader Manish Dhuri alleged that the woman who has accused NCP minister Dhananjay Munde of rape has been trying to honey trap them and several other men for a long.

Hegde, a former legislator, who filed a complaint with the Mumbai police Thursday in this regard, claims that singer Renu Sharma was allegedly trying to lure him into a relationship since 2010 although he never budged into her demands. Dhuri also submitted a written complaint against the lady levelling similar charges.

Hegde and Dhuri's complaints have the potential to offer a long rope to the minister Dhananjay Munde who has been slapped with rape charges by Ms. Sharma early this week. Munde had denied allegations and called her a “blackmailer”. Although he admitted to having a relationship with Renu’s elder sister.

Hegde’s complaint submitted to Amboli police station reads:

“This is to inform you that one Ms Renu Sharma has been calling me, messaging me, and coaxing me since 2010 to have a relationship with her.

This harassment went on to the point of stalking. Through my sources, I found out that she is a dubious person who is setting up a honey trap. I totally avoided meeting her.

I am informed that few more persons have been honey-trapped and money has been extorted. The Mumbai Police should kindly investigate this.

The harassment, messages and phone calls continued till 2015 but I studiously avoided meeting her.

I told her clearly that I am not interested in meeting her forget having any kind of relationship with her as she seeks.

Even on 6th Jan 2021 and 7th Jan 2021, she whatsapped me. I did not respond to messages except sending her a thumbs-up emoji.

Two days ago I was shocked to see and read in the media her allegations against Minister Shri Dhananjay Munde.

This is when I decided to inform you about Ms Renu Sharma.

Today, they have targetted him, a couple of years ago it could have been Me and tomorrow it will be someone else.

This is a process to lure, honey trap, blackmail and extort money and I would request the Mumbai Police to file an FIR and take the matter to its logical conclusion.
